Turning Point Women’s Center PA is an Obstetrics and Gynecology private practice serving Greenwood, South Carolina, and the surrounding areas. Board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist Michael B. Gentry, DO, FACOG strives for collaborative and educational interactions with every patient and provides care using state-of-the-art tools and techniques. 

Dr. Gentry grew up in Southeast Ohio before completing his undergraduate education at Kettering College of Medical Arts in Kettering, Ohio, and Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. He graduated medical school from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, before completing his internship at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens, Ohio. He then completed a four-year residency at Akron General Medical Center,  now known as Cleveland Clinic - Akron in Akron, Ohio. He was co-chief resident during his third year and executive chief resident during his final year.

To give every patient a first-class experience with the most up-to-date gynecological practices, Dr. Gentry maintains professional memberships in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists,  the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the American Urogynecologic Society, the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, the International Urogynecological Association and the South Carolina Medical Association. He is a Fellow of  American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a candidate for fellowship in the American College of Surgeons.

At Turning Point Women’s Center PA, Dr. Gentry specializes in routine and Advanced Gynecology and Obstetrics. He has over 30 years of experience with Urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery for prolapse. Today, he routinely provides hysterectomy, myomectomy, and treatment for pain-causing conditions like endometriosis and interstitial cystitis. Turning Point Women’s Center PA also provides Obstetrical Care, including high-risk obstetrics.

Dr. Gentry is also the only masters level gynecologist and pelvic reconstructive surgeon with privileges at Self Regional Medical Center for the DaVinci® Xi™ robotic surgery system, which assists him in providing careful and precise surgical treatment.
